In 2023-24, the Gryphon basketball team found themselves barely on the wrong side of a tight 39-45 game against Manchester in the MHSAA District Quarterfinal playoff game.

This year, it was Greenhills and Manchester, again, facing each other in the first round playoff game. However, after a year of growth, the Gryphons turned the tables on the Dutch, cruising to a 50-40 victory. 

The playoff win was the first for Greenhills varsity basketball in two seasons and an example of the steep progress made by the team under second-year head coach Taylor Parker.

The Gryphons were challenged with a difficult task after their first round win, facining top-seeded host Plymouth Christian Academy only two nights later. The Gryphons fought and scrapped their way to a slim 2-point lead at hafltime, however, the Eagles came out firing in the third quarter. Ultimately, PCA built a lead that couldn't be overcome, however the growth of the team was clear even in the final game of the year. The Gryphons doubled their win total from hte 2023-24 season, finishing an impressive season.
